Only in Texas

I took the kids to eat at Chick-fil-a before they went to a birthday party this afternoon... and what did we see? THIS!
We saw a cowboy pulling his "Longhorn" through the parking lot.
I was so excited I just wanted to run up and pet it, but since this cowboy could barely get his Bull to move, I'm pretty sure the Longhorn would not have been amused if I was bothering it!
So I took photos instead!
For no reason at all. I have decided. I want a pet cow.
Of course, I live in an apartment... and this would never happen.
Well not in this century.
But isn't he pretty cool?
The Bull moved for a few steps.
Before he stalled again.
It was free entertainment :)
Ahhhhh just another day in Texas!

  2. You are Gallipoli right Tammy. ONLY in Texas!!! Certainly not a sight you would be likely to see in England. xx

  3. What a beautiful animal. You're right, the only close encounters we've had on the roads in the UK are foxes and grouse in Scotland.

  4. You wouldn't see that in Leeds. As for pet cows, I've always fancied a pig myself, it's their cute little snouts.

  5. Brilliant! As Jo says, you wouldn't see that in the UK although you could well get stuck behind a load of cows (or sheep!) in a narrow lane being moved from one field to the next!

  6. You just made me homesick!! I didn't grow up in TX, but it's home as it's the last place in the US that we lived and where our parents are now. It's things like this that make me love Texas!! What a fun experience! And now I'm craving Chick-fil-a! Gah! Miss that too!! ;)

  7. What in the world! You're right - only in Texas! (I've actually never seen one of these in person. They look huge! If I was that cowboy, I think I'd be a bit nicer to my "pet"...)

  9. What an excellent photo opportunity Tammy. Not every day you'll see that no doubt.

  10. I love it! I hope he got the cow home ok. I wonder how far he had to go? You don't see that in Leeds but very occasionally we see travelers with a horse and cart - it's seems so old fashioned. x

  13. Oh my goodness I somehow missed this post - Wow, not a sight you'd see in the UK, not in a carpark anyway!

  14. He's huge! You won't see that in London, but you do sometimes get a herd of cows being walked down a country lane from field to farm for milking. M x

  15. He was probably stalling so he could make sure he wasn't visiting a steak house! What a fantastic animal, so much better looking than our English cows. Plenty of those around here along with sheep eating brussels sprouts in the fields, just don't light a match around here! Have a wonderful week my friend. xx
