My Dear Aunt Loretta

On Saturday night I lost my very lovely Aunt. She was truly a beautiful woman. She was 58 years old.
I was there when they took her off of life support. She had an infection in her heart valve. She had surgery 2 weeks ago but after 3 heart attacks it was evident she would not make it.
Being a military child and spouse, I never had the privilege of knowing her as a child but I have spent time with her the last 5 years. My mother however was very close to her sister. It's so hard to see my mom in so much pain. People say "time heals all wounds", but is that true? Or does time just give us extra moments and we learn to live and cope with our pain?
My Aunt's name was Loretta. Her husband of 33 years is of course beside himself, but holding it together the best he can.
I've made many friends through blogging and I'd like to ask for prayer and thought for my family during this difficult time.
Much love,
Tammy

  1. I am so sorry to hear this, Tammy. I will be praying for your family. I don't think time heals all wounds, but it does seem to make them less acute, a blessing from God.

  7. I'm so sorry for your loss, Tammy, and for that of your family. Having a loved one die is never easy, but all the harder at the holidays. I'll hold you all in my heart this season.

  8. Oh Tammy! I am so very sorry. I e-mailed you earlier today before I read this, so you already know that I am thinking of you. In time yes, things get easier to live with as we come to terms with them, but that doesn't mean that it is "better" or alright, we just learn to live with the new situation. I know I can't, but if I can do anything, please let me know, even if it is to e-mail chat. Take care of yourself while you are no doubt taking care of everyone else. Thinking of you all. Love Amy xx

  9. Tammy- I am so sorry to hear this. 58 is not old by any means, today. My heart aches for your Mom. I understand completely what she is going through. I lost my only brother at 59 this past winter and it is heart-wrenching. I will pray for your Mom, Loretta's hubby and YOU, too. Loretta is beyond all pain and suffering now. Blessings- xo Diana

  16. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and we pray for you and your family during these very difficult times. I don't think loss gets easier, I just think we learn to live with it because we have no choice. Life goes on and it is so sad as you just want the world to take some time to stop to acknowledge the loss of a special person. I hope you and your Mum find strength together to heal the wounds. You are in our thoughts. Much love xoxo
