He did a ton of research and found that he now had to have an Olympus OMD EM5. I've been shooting with the Nikon and he shoots with the Olympus and I prefer his photos. Maybe that's more to do with the fact that he is a better photographer, but I notice it captures color so much better and doesn't need as much editing. Plus it's compact comparatively. Here is a great review video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlngvkBxLME&feature=youtu.be Happy shopping! I went for ...As you know, I recently bought a DSLR. I went for the Nikon D3100, a decent entry level camera. Have you used a DSLR before? What I would say is that you've also got to be prepared to buy different lenses for it and they don't come cheap, I'm saving up at the moment. The lens they come with doesn't have a very good zoom so I find that I go back to my bridge camera if I know I'm likely to need a zoom on my photos. There's some great bridge cameras about and many are very reasonable, they're convenient like a point and shoot but come with many of the settings and features which a DSLR has. Eleanor wants a new camera for Christmas, she's keen to learn more about photography so we've bought her a Nikon bridge camera. We got a great deal on it, it was just about half price so I snapped it up. Looking forward to hearing what you decide to go with.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7911900515801263690.post-59365524842101375472013-11-21T03:44:45.968-06:002013-11-21T03:44:45.968-06:00I use a Nikon D40 camera body with a variety of Ni...I use a Nikon D40 camera body with a variety of Nikkor lenses. If you already have any lenses for Nikon it makes sense to stay with them. I think both cameras produce pretty good images, the technology is so good now. I would love a great camera like this though. I expect the advice to go and hold them and have a look is good, as I know I find the buttons on my camera quite fiddly and would love to have been able to play around before I got it, as I might have chosen something else if I had been able to "have a feel". It's the Nikon equivalent of the Canon I use now, just two years newer! :o) I hope you can get a good deal on it. Before you purchase it, go to Best Buy (or any electronics store) and see how it feels in your hands. I was convinced I was going to buy a Nikon until I held both a Nikon and a Canon and realized the Canon felt more natural with my hand shape. And for something you're going to be holding for hours at a time, you're going to want it to fit like your favorite pair of jeans!Sarah Shumatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08178401162208967646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7911900515801263690.post-62053702173070487472013-11-20T12:38:55.076-06:002013-11-20T12:38:55.076-06:00I use a Nikon D40 camera body with a variety of Ni...I use a Nikon D40 camera body with a variety of Nikkor lenses.
